Almost two years, I was going through the motions of life. I had aspirations and goals but was nowhere near fulfilling them. We’ve all heard this phrase at one point in our lives “I work for my job, it doesn’t work for me.” Yep, that was me. Groundhog day, every day! I was living in a corporate structure where I felt imprisoned. Yes, I worked for a large tech firm and the benefits were tremendous, but in all honesty, I wasn’t happy. I wanted to travel, I wanted to be challenged, and most of all, I wanted to have a better work-life balance. During a long, daunting day on August 29th, 2017, I signed into Facebook at my desk in hopes of some social enlightenment. I had a direct message from my now CEO, Chris Yano, explaining he had his band mates vote for my band to play Lost Lake Festival. At this time, I thanked him for his support and realized we had something in common; we both had a passion for singing our hearts out. Our conversation about music eventually turned into talks about life. Chris shared information about his company and the balance it provides him, and me expressing my frustrations with my current situation.
Chris asked me a hard question, “ What do you want to be doing, in addition to music?” I responded, “ Something creative, sales, marketing, something to challenge my mind.” Chris replied, “Got it, so basically my world…Hmmm, maybe there is an opportunity for you with RYNO?”
I could keep going on and explain how our conversation evolved, but it ended with Chris offering me a sales job in November of 2017. He took me under his wing, showed me the ropes, and provided me my dream job at RYNO. I found not only a job but also a career that is fulfilling in every way. Just as Chris took me under his wing, the entire team embraced me and continues to provide unconditional love and support. When I think of unconditional love and support, I think of family, and when I think of family, it makes me happy. RYNO is my second family, giving me purpose every morning. I have found my work-life balance, and I’m so thankful and honored to be part of the RYNO family.
