Ready for round 2? On today’s episode, we return for part two of our conversation with Kevin Comerford of Service Champions, and Jonathan Bancroft of Morris-Jenkins.

In part one with Kevin Comerford and Jonathan Bancroft, we discussed a lot about culture, hiring, and leadership in your home services business. Now, we shift the conversation towards training, education, and how to set your organization up for sustained success.

The Fuel That Powers Growth

Kevin and his team started their university at Service Champions after visiting Morris-Jenkins and seeing what Jonathan and his organization were doing with education. He attributes starting Champions University with being the fuel that propelled Service Champions to go from 30M to 120M.

In an era where the industry is always complaining about how hard it is to find good help, what are you doing to solve the problem? Kevin and Jonathan agree: start small, but start something. Education and training are different, but both have to be a top priority if you’re going to create a culture of learning and growth.

In part two with Kevin Comerford and Jonathan Bancroft, we talk about:
  • Creating training academies and universities in your home services organization
  • Finding the right resources to grow
  • Defining the difference between training and education
  • Learning how to create a culture of learning in your business
  • Keeping things simple as a recipe for success
  • And more!

You Have To Apply What You Learn

As you’re creating a culture of learning and development, one critical component is ensuring that everyone is applying what they’re learning – including you! There are plenty of great resources and organizations out there like Nexstar that can help you both learn and integrate these values into your business. If you aren’t sure where to start, our guests recommend just naming the “thing” and starting small. Maybe that’s just calling it (your company) University, and then using that name when training.

Remember, you don’t have to do everything…but you gotta do something. NO. ZERO. DAYS.
