You know what really drives a business forward? Great leaders. On this episode of To The Point, we welcome Michael Caito, CEO of MAP Consulting. From contractors to businesses of all sizes and industries, leadership training is something that you can never get enough of if you’re trying to improve and scale. Listen now!
Entrepreneurs Create, CEOs Scale
Michael knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur as a young adult, and started a highly successful venture called “Restaurants on the Run.” The business was doing so well that he dropped out of college. By year five, an investor was asking him questions about profitability and being able to make a good exit and Michael didn’t have the answers. It was then he realized that entrepreneurs create, but CEOs scale. There was expertise he didn’t have to get to the next level. After attending a two-day MAP workshop, he learned what it meant to be a manager, a CEO, and a leader. He left with a toolkit of the critical things you have to do in business and immediately implemented what he learned.
Seeing the incredible value, Michael started sending all of his managers to MAP. They brought in a coach, implemented a system to develop their managers and hold them accountable, and combined that with the other great things they were doing with sales, marketing, and technology. Propelled forward, they started consolidating smaller companies around the country with great success. Before long, GrubHub came knocking at the door as it was trying to compete with DoorDash, and Michael made his successful exit.
After the exit, Michael knew he lived and breathed entrepreneurship. They change the world and build companies that create jobs and raise the standard of living. Still, they need that leadership and CEO capability to scale and succeed. So he bought MAP and charged ahead!

The Most Important Habit for Your Business
MAP is really about the fundamentals of business. Most companies have some kind of sales system, maybe some operational systems, but they usually don’t have a management system. That’s what MAP helps with. It’s a system of what we need to do as leaders and managers to scale the business. There’s a combination of training with reinforcement and implementation that layers in technology to get you off and running.
