It takes most contractors many years or even decades to hit the $50M mark. Our guest today is on pace to get there in year five. We’re excited to welcome Sameh Ayoub, president of Apex Pros Plumbing, Heating, Electric, and Air, to talk about how he took his company from three vans on the road in 2021 to pacing for 200 employees, 135 vans, and $50M in revenue in 2025.
From a Boost Mobile Empire to Home Services Success
Sameh started his business career as a Boost Mobile retailer in 1997. He would go on to grow from a single location to 250 locations across 14 states by 2020. However, as the pandemic came into play, he and his team were looking at other industries. Naturally, the trades came on their radar because of their “recession-proof” status.
He started Apex Pros in 2021 and focused immediately on two major things: educating himself and building a great culture for his employees. Sameh also joined Nexstar, found Dan Antonelli and created a great brand, went all in on marketing, and wasn’t shy about reaching out to other contractors to learn as much as he could. The end result? Massive success.
Apex is on pace to hit $50M in just its fifth year, a testament to Sameh’s willingness to go all-in and follow the playbook others have laid out.

There Is No Magic Pill
According to Sameh, there’s no magic pill to success in the home services industry. He listened to countless hours of podcasts, visited numerous contractors, and asked for advice. He joined Nexstar, found the right branding and marketing teams, and implemented what he was learning. And of course, he built a great culture for his team and saw marketing as an investment, not a cost.
You have to do everything you can to get the phone to ring. Figure out what works and what doesn’t, and keep on moving. That’s the “secret” to Sameh’s last five years!
No. Zero. Days.
